January 21, 2023  New Year Challenge at Len Jet

On Saturday January 21st, 18 Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway to race  Hobby Stock,  E-fray with Nascar bodies on the Nuvolari and IROC on the Tub.

After  practice, cars were teched and Dave Lockwood conducted the driver’s meeting.  After the meeting racers voted for the best appearing car and Jimmy’s Daytona Cobra Coupe was awarded best appearing.

Hobby Stock on the Champion

To no ones surprise, Flash took the win with 86 laps and the top step on the podium with Dave taking second (again to no ones surprise) with 85 laps with Big Greg W taking third with 82 laps.  Terry turned in a strong drive just a lap behind Greg with Joe Rinn, Hal, Donnie, Paul Ryer and Peter rounding out the top half of the field.

E-Fray with Nascar bodies on the Nuvolari

We’re able to run 6 lanes on the Nuvolari so the competition is fierce and horsepower counts with long straightaways.  Dave took the win with 156 laps with Peter second with 153 laps and Pitstop third with 152 laps.  Did I mention that the gutter lanes have hairpins that are a challenge?  Paul Ryer , Flash  and Donnie ( tied for laps and sections), Greg W, Jimmy and Joe Rinn rounded out the top half of the field

IROC on the Tub

Greg W took his Ford GT IROC set out of hibernation and Flash outran him for the win 149 laps to 147 laps.  Cody with 145 laps took third.  Joe Rinn, Dave, Paul Ryer and Peter rounded out the top half of the field

It was a fun day of racing and thank you Peter for your hospitality as always.

Our next race will be the Freezer at Len Jet on February 4th. Races will be Hobby Stock on Tub, Magnatraction with IMSA bodies on the Python and IROC on the Bear
