Nov 19, 2022  Little Greg’s Big Race

On Saturday November 19th, 12 Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway to race  Grand National, SS and an IROC race. 

After  practice, cars were teched and Dave Lockwood conducted the driver’s meeting.  After the meeting racers voted for the best appearing car and Jimmy’s David Pearson #17 blue and gold Torino was awarded best appearing.

We ran the middle 4 lanes on the 6 lane track.  Too many offs took out some of the fast cars but Dave took the win lapping the entire field turning 78 laps 10 sections to Tom Gray’s 77 laps 8 sections  Nice race Tom!.  Third place went to Peter and Joe Rinn both turning 76 laps 26 sections. Bruce and Terry rounded out the top half of the field.

Peter smoked the field taking the win with 101 laps and a 6 lap lead over the next two closest competitors.  Donnie and Joe Rinn both had 95 laps with Donnie taking the win by 2 sections!!!!  Dave, Rick and Tom Gray rounded out the top half of the field.

Dave related that no parts manufactured later than 1970 were used in building the set.  Cars looked great and ran smooth and fast and were trouble free.  Dave took the win with 71 laps 5 sections with Peter close behind in second with 70 laps 75 sections. Donnie took third with 69 laps 46 sections.  Hal, Tom Gray and Rick rounded out the top half of the field.

It was a fun day of racing and thank you Peter for your hospitality as always.
