July 16, 2022  First Summer Series Race ( Or where was everybody?)

On Saturday July 16th, 10 Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway for the First Summer Series Race.

Practice ended around 10, cars were teched and Dave Lockwood conducted the driver’s meeting.

Nostalgia on the Bear

Dave took the win with 21 laps in all 4 lanes for a total of 84.  Paul took second but his lap totals were all over the place…19, 21, 20, 22!!!!  Peter took the last step on the podium with 80 laps.  Terry and Tom Gray filled out the top half of the field.

Indy on the Champion

Peter took the win with 88 laps a lap ahead of Dave and Paul who both had 87 laps. Dave coming out ahead by 4 sections.  Joe Rinn and Terry filled out the top half of the field.

E-fray on the Tub

Our final race for the day was on the 5 lane Tub track.  We usually run slower classes of cars on the Tubby, the E-Fray really fly.  Dave dominated with 177 laps followed by Peter with 166 laps and Paul with 164 laps.  In the final analysis, Dave, Peter and Paul were on the podium for all three races.  Congrats guys.  Tom Gray and Joe Rinn filled out the top half of the field.

It was a fun day of racing and thank you Peter for your hospitality as always.

Our next race in the summer series will be July 30th following our annual rules meeting.  Races will be Nostalgia on the Shamrock Glen, Fray/Super Stock on the Bear and if time permits an IROC race on the Champion.
