May 6, 2018 | Paul Ryer On Sunday April 29th, Paul Ryer hosted the Spinout in Hingham, Ma. Although we only had 11 racers, they came from Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire and MA. The day began with practice for the three classes at 8am with Hobby Stock ( stock Aurora tjets with only non stock parts wheels and silicone slip on tires). The second class was Limited super stock with Trans Am bodies. Racers used Autoworld , Dash and Auroroa tjet chassis. Last class for the feature race of the day was AFX Magnatraction Chassis with Nascar bodies. ( all practice was at 20 volts) At 10am, after tech was conducted the best appearing car was voted for and Bill Craven’s #10 Hobby Stock Ford Torino Entry was judged the winner. The Hobby stock race was tight at the top with Flash and Greg both turning 81 laps!!!! Flash was the winner by 9 sections and Jimmy C filled out the podium by one lap over Paul Ryer. Next up was the Limited Super Stock race which allows any tjet chassis in super stock configuration but with up to 14 ohm armatures but they can’t be balanced or trued. Flash and Greg went at it again and this time Greg finished on the top step of the podium by one lap (102 laps to 101 laps ) with Jimmy C again third ahead of Paul Ryer. After lunch ( outstanding thin crust NY style Pizza from Comellas), we practiced AFX Magnatraction with Nascar bodies at 18 volts. Paul Ryer upheld his honor as the host by taking the win by one lap over Jimmy C (122 laps to 121 laps) with Greg taking the third step on the podium. Thanks Jimmy for doing the report! — PR
