Hello fellow Outlaw Racers!

Thirteen lucky participants made their way to LenJet to test their skills on three of the most challenging tracks we race on. After the practice and a brief driver’s meeting, the “Best Appearing” car as voted on by the racers was Donnie Hall’s number 12 Grand National – congratulations Donnie on a job well done!

Now it was off to the Shamrock Glen for the Grand National race, it was a tight, twisty road course and big heavy bodies really tested the drivers skills and patience. Taking the checkers was Dave with his Rex-White number 4 Chevy Impala (72 laps, 38 sections), second was Greg W. with his Plymouth Roadrunner (70 laps, 46 sections), and third was Donnie Hall with his Ford Torino (70 laps 38 sections). Paul Ryer was fourth with 70 laps and 35 sections, fifth was Peter with 68 laps, 61 sections, sixth was Steve with 68 and 60 sections, seventh was Joe Rinn, with 66 laps and 58 sections, eighth was Joe E with 66 laps and 57 sections, ninth was Cody with 66 and 7 sections, and tenth was Pete H. with 65 and 44, and the rest of the field was Rick, Bruce and John. As you can see, a lot of close racing, with many of the positions only decided by sections.

Next up was limited SS on the Python. Taking down the win was Dave (Chevrolet Camaro) with 105 laps and 1 section, second place was Cody with 92 laps and 39 sections, third was Donnie with 92 and 27 sections, fourth was Peter Lentros with 89 and 9, fifth was Greg W. with 87 and 50, sixth was Paul Ryer with 87 and 16, seventh was Steve with 87 and 12, eighth was Bruce with 86 and 37, ninth was Joe Rinn with 83 and 5, and tenth was Rick with 82 and 47. The rest of the field followed in with John, Joe E. and Pete.

Finishing up the day was the Magnatraction race on the Bear. The two that were trash-talking back and forth really didn’t have the race that they were hoping for (Dave and Paul)! Taking down the win with the rent-a-ride Chevrolet Chevelle (hmm Chevrolet won all three races (Obviously, these cars don’t have any GM parts)) was Cody with a blistering pace of 115 laps and 56 sections, second was Donnie Hall with 112 and 25 sections (good day for Donnie, two 3rd’s a 2nd and a Best Appearing – well done Donnie!), third was Greg W. with 110 and 12 sections, fourth was Peter with 107 and 33, fifth was Dave with 106 and 12, sixth was John with 103 and 15 (Good run John!), seventh was Joe Rinn with 96 and 40, eighth was Paul Ryer with 93 and 31, ninth was Steve 91 and 13, and tenth was Pete H. with 84 and 28. The rest of the field was Joe E. Rick and Bruce.
As always, thanks Peter for hosting!  The next race up is the season finale on May 15th. Hobby Stock on the Python, Jalopy on the Oval and E-Fray on the Scorpion? Hope to see everyone there!
