May 15, 2022 | Jim Colligan April 23rd, 2022 “The Spinout” 2021-22 season Spoiler alert: Flash didn’t win a race for the longest time anyone can remember!!!!!!!!!!! On Saturday April 23rd, 13 Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway to race tjets. Practice ended around 10, cars were teched and Dave Lockwood conducted the driver’s meeting. Rick Morrisette was awarded best appearing car. Grand National on the Shamrock Glen Big Greg took the win proving that the long layoff hasn’t affected his trigger finger!!!! He took the top step on the podium by beating Flash by less than a lap turning 75 laps 19 sections to Flash’s 74 laps 50 sections. Dave Lockwood took the last step on the podium 3 sections behind Flash with 74 laps 47 sections. Racing sure was tight at the sharp end of the field!!! Donnie and Joe Escalante tied for 4th with 71 laps 47 sections with Joe Rinn and Terry rounding out the top half of the field. Great win Greg. Trans Am on the Python After lunch we ran Trans Am bodies mounted to E fray chassis on the Python. Donnie Hall took the win with 101 Laps. He was followed by Flash and Dave with a total of 100 and 99 laps. Greg W 96 , Jimmy 95, Hal 93, and Peter rounded out the top half of the field. We’ll be running Fray cars on this track at the Nats so getting as many laps on the Python will help us to get the rhythm for the Fray cars. Nice win Donnie. Nascar Magnatraction on the Car Model Track Our last race of the day was the fastest class of cars we run. This time we ran magnatraction chassis with Nascar bodies. Peter set the bar high right from the start and nobody was able to match his 154 laps. Flash took his third 2nd place finish of the day with152 laps. Donnie took third with 149 laps. Dave and Jimmy both had 141 laps with Dave beating Jimmy by 4 sections. Bruce rounded out the top half of the field. Great win Peter.
