LenJet All Stars Race Report

On Saturday, December 7th, 2019,  23 Outlaw racers made their way to Lenjet Raceway in Ashland, MA for the fourth race of the 2019 season.  After practice for the Hobby Stock Cars on the Shamrock Glen, Limited Super Stock with Nastruck bodies on the Bear and Grand National cars on the Doval, the drivers meeting was conducted by Dave Lockwood.

Dave thanked everyone who helped at the Halloween Havoc Championship races and once again thanked all the sponsors who contributed all the parts for the goody bags, raffle drawing and awards as well as cash for tee shirts and supporting items.  Dave urged everyone to support the sponsors with their business.   Greg reported that we had over $700 in the treasury.  There is a Grone ( Gravity Racing of New England) race on Saturday December 28th at Lenjet to include a Super Stock Tjet race.  Gravity cars will be available.

Then we had the body swap where everyone who provided a body was awarded a body.

Because there were 23 racers, the racers were divided into 2 groups for the first two races with half racing Limited SS on the Bear and half racing Hobby Stock on the Shamrock Glen.

Hobby Stock

Cody Pare took the win by sections over Flash both turning 67 laps!  The young fellow can drive. Dave Lockwood took the final step on the podium a lap behind.  Greg Wisniewski, Steve Nilsen, Paul Ryer, Don Hall, John Schoenfield, Rick Morrissette, Tom Gray, Rick Hubert and Terry Ayer filled out the top half of the field.

Limited Super Stock with Nastruck Bodies

Dave Lockwood took first with 94 laps.  Flash and  Don Hall had 93 laps took second  and third ahead of Tom Gray who also had 93 laps.  Greg Wisniewski, Peter Lentros, Rick Hubert, Joe Escalante, Steve Nilsen, Rick Morrissette and Jimmy Colligan completed the top half of the field.

Grand National on the Oval

The feature race of the day was the Grand National race.  With lap times in the 2 second range, the racing was fast and furious. An off could easily cost 2 laps if more than one car was involved.   At the end of the day Flash avoided the mayem and  took the win with 429 laps (in 12 Minutes of racing).  Dave Lockwood with 423 laps and Don Hall with 415 laps took 2nd and 3rd.  Flash and Dave were on the podium for all three races and Don for 2 of the races proving they were the Stars among the All Stars.  Joe Escalante, Greg Wisniewski, Steve Nilsen, Cody Pare, Rick Hubert, Hal Pierce and John Schoenfield rounded out the top half of the field.

We had a great day of racing and thanks to Peter for being the great host as always!

Next Race is January 4th at Rick Morrissette’s where we will be running Hobby Stock, Limited Super Stock with Nascar Bodies and an IROC race.
