March 28, 2016 | Paul Ryer It was an abnormally warm February morning when 15 drivers from as far away as Maine took to the track at Lil Greg’s Raceway. The fast but windy track proved to be a challenge for many a racer. A few racers showed up for the Thursday test and tune session and boy did it show! First class of the day was Grand National and low and behold the man who did the most laps on Thursday, Mr. Flash-inator, took down the win with 72 laps. Second was Greg W. A.K.A. W.W. and the Dixie Dance kings with 71, third was the great Dave Lockwood with 69, fourth was Steve with 67 and 24 sections (another Thursday night test and tune participant) and fifth the always fast Mikey also with 67 but one less section. The second class of the day was ECHORR Indy where we saw some crazy fast lap times. When the dust settled Mr. Consistent Flash took down another win with 76 laps and 9 sections. I think we should stop letting him in for practice the week prior to races! Second was Dave Lockwood with 76 laps and 3 sections, third was slot car body man extraordinaire Pat who did a full teardown of his Indy hotrod just minutes prior to tech closing and finished with 73 laps. Guess cleaning the com and oiling the car does have a positive effect on performance! Fourth was Rick H with 72 laps and rounding out the Top five was Greg W with 71 laps. We broke for some Red Rose pizza and salad. For those familiar with the western mass area – Red Rose is the marque pizza joint! Yummmmm! The last class of the day was ECHORR Super Stock were we finally saw someone win other than Flash (feel free to applaud loudly!) Taking down the win was Ryan with 92 laps and 13 sections, second was Dave L with 92 laps and 2 sections, third was Flash with 90 laps, fourth was Rick H. with 87 laps, and fifth was Greg W with 86 laps. Thanks to everyone that showed up. The action looks to heat up next week at Big Greg’s for Rockin’ it Old School. Hope to see everyone there!
