Hello Outlaw Members!

Sixteen racers made their way to LenJet for the Cherry Tree Chopper. After some practice and a driver’s meeting we voted for the best appearing. Donnie Hall’s beautiful #33 Gulf Indy took the honors – well done Donnie! We started racing the Indy cars on the Champion. Taking the top spot on the podium was Greg B. (without any benefit of practice time at all) with 93 laps 44 sections. Dave was second with 92 laps and 47 sections, and third was Flash 90 laps, 36 sections, fourth was Peter with 90 laps 34 sections, and fifth was Donnie with 89 laps, 21 sections. sixth was Tom Gray with 85 laps, 20 sections, seventh was Joe Rinn with 84 laps 15 sections, eighth was Steve with 84 laps, 34 sections, ninth was Cody with 84 laps 21 sections. Rounding out the top ten was his Dad with 83 laps, 35 sections. As you can see, many of the top ten positions were only decided by a few sections. The rest of the field came home, Mark, Joe E., Pitstop (Dennis Moore), Bruce and Terry.

The next race up was IROC on the Shamrock Glenn. Old school Aurora GT T-Jets were used. The Shamrock Glenn proved a good fit for this style of racing, as the top 3 podium spots were only decided by 5 sections. Cody taking down the win, the Flash Man was second, and Dave was third all with 71 laps, 15, 11, and 10 sections respectively. Fourth was Greg with 69 laps, 58 sections, fifth went to Peter with 69 laps 5 sections, sixth was Joe Rinn with 68 laps 43 sections and  seventh was Jim Hoar with 68 laps 30 sections. The rest of the field was Steve, Pitstop, Mark, Donnie, Tom, Joe E., Terry, Rick and Bruce.

The last race of the day was SS on the Shamrock Glenn. Taking the checkers was Dave with 98 laps 51 sections, second was Donnie Hall with 97 laps,50 sections, and third was Greg with 96 laps 41 sections (using his eFray car with slip-on tires). If he used his regular SS the outcome would have been much different IMHO). Fourth was Peter, with 96 laps 11 sections and fifth was Flash with 95 laps 60 sections. Sixth was Jim with 95 laps 38 sections, Seventh was Joe Rinn with 90 laps seven sections, and eighth was Cody with 86 laps 35 sections. Rick, Pitstop, Joe E. Bruce, Steve, Tom, Terry and Mark rounded out the rest of the field.

It was a fun day of racing. Thanks once again Peter for hosting! The next race will be Rockin’ It Old School on March 27th with Hobby Stock on the Tub, Magnatraction on the Boomerang and IROC on the Champion. All classes to run with original Aurora bodies. Hope to see you all at the next race!
