February 18, 2023,  The “ I wish I was at Daytona” race

On Saturday February 18th, 12  Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway to race Indy Cars, Super Stock  and Magnatraction with Sports Prototype bodies.

After  practice, cars were teched , Paul Ryer (Dave couldn’t make the race since he was attending his mother’s 92^nd birthday) conducted the driver’s meeting.  After the meeting racers voted for the best appearing car and Paul Ryer was awarded best appearing.

Indy Cars on the Python

Peter turned 81 laps to best Cody by a lap and take the top step on the podium with Donnie taking 3^rd with 78 laps.  Paul Ryer, Rick and Jimmy rounded out the top half of the field.  New member Gerry Norwood finished 2 laps behind 3 Outlaws for a nice job considering it was his first race on the Python and first time racing an indy car.

Super Stock on the Champion

Paul Ryer took the win with 114 laps.  Donnie took second a lap behind with 113 laps and Peter took the final step on the podium a lap behind Donnie.  Racing was sure tight at the sharp end of the field.  Terry, Jimmy and Rick rounded out the top half of the field.

Magnatraction on the Python with Sports Prototype bodies

Paul Ryer steamrolled the field taking first with 174 laps with Peter a whopping 7 laps behind!!!!  Terry was third 13 laps behind Peter with 154 laps!!!!  Cody, Jimmy and Hal rounded out the top half of the field.  Just a data point, at our January race Dave turned 156 laps in the efray race with Nascar bodies.

It was a fun day of racing and thank you Peter for your hospitality as always.

Our next race will be the “March Madness”  at Len Jet on March 18th. Races will be Jalopies on the Bear, Fray/ SS on the Python and IROC on the Shamrock Glen
