On Saturday January 26,  14 Outlaws visited Ron DeRoche’s Rolling Thunder Raceway.  Ron’s track is a horsepower track that really rewards horsepower despite having 2 hairpins and a series of esses that can catch even the best out.  Long fast straights and fast sweepers rule!  After practice for the day’s three races Dave Lockwood ran the drivers’ meeting.  The club decided to purchase a tee shirt for each paid member.  Greg W took down sizes.  Members would also have the opportunity to buy additional tees and if desired purchase long sleeve tees directly from the screen printer.
Save the dates
Dave then went through upcoming races:
Sat Feb 2   GRoNE Gravity race at Rob Hayes Catfish Raceway in Cambridge

Sat Feb 9    MARC In line magnet car races at Lenjet in Ashland

Sat Feb 16  Next Outlaw race at Lenjet

Sat Feb 24 New England Slot Car Swap Meet at LenJet

Sat April 6   Steve is putting on an IROC tjet race at Lenjet…Just show up with your controller and $5 for lunch!

Big Greg provided the Treasurer’s report and reported a balance of over $1000.  The club really focuses on transparency when it comes to where the money comes from and what it is spent on.
After the meeting we voted for the beat appearing car and little Greg won with a beautiful Indy car painted by Pat Dube.  Greg said he was going to retire the body from competition after this race.
First race up was the Indy Car Race.  Little Greg, driving the best appearing car won the race by less than a lap over Flash.  It’s pretty rare to have the best appearing car at the top of the podium. Dave took the final step on the podium less than a lap behind Flash.  Big Greg, Hal ( nice race Hal) Mike and Terry finished out the top half of the field.
We broke for lunch for some delicious pizza, chips and dip, pretzels , cookies etc all provided by Ron without reimbursement by the club to help build up our treasury.
After lunch, the second race was our most popular class the Tjet Super Stock class.  Little Greg took the top step on the podium again with Dave 2nd and Jimmy third.  Flash, Big Greg, Steve and Paul rounded out the the top half of the field
Last race of the day wat the Sports Prototype Magnatraction Race…our fastest class.  Dave saved the day preventing Little Greg from a clean sweep!  Greg finished 2nd a lap behind and Paul took the final step on the podium with Big Greg, Flash, Mike and Terry rounded out the top half of the field.
All in all a great day of racing on a really fun track.  Thanks Ron for all the work that goes into making it a great day.

Thanks to O Jimmy for writing up the race report.
