February 3, 2018 | Paul Ryer 2018 Skid Marks 500 Jalopies Boy let me tell you about brave souls … I think this was probably the coldest race start time temps we’ve had yet. -6 deg. But that didn’t deter the diehard race fans. The pre-race Hotcakes breakfast had a surprise guest as Mr. Pat Dube joined us, and spent the rest of the day banging doors with us. 13 Racers made it to the Skid Marks 500 including a couple of surprise guests Mr. Matt Patrick, Mike Riley, as well as Mr. Dube. After a brief driver meeting it was time to get to the racing, first up was the Hobby Stocks on the CRB road course Taking down the win was Dave lockwood with 86, laps followed by Greg B in second with 84 laps, and Rick M in third place with 81 laps. After the first race we broke for lunch (racer fuel) Chicken and sausages on the Traeger with mac and cheese and potato salad. And all the fixins. After fueling up it was back to the track this time it was Jalopies on the Doval….. After the dust settled it was Big Greg W taking the checkered flag with 306 laps, Hot on his bumper was Pat Dube taking second with 305 laps, and Dave Lockwood at 304 laps for third. Rounding out the race program was the popular Limited SS class ..Running away with the win was Greg B. with 111 laps, Rick M seven laps down at 104 to hold onto second place just barley ahead of Steve N at 103 laps to take the third podium spot.
