July 16, 2017 | Paul Ryer Rockin’ it Old School was rescheduled to July 8th and moved to Lenjet. We also deleted a class so we could have our annual rules meeting. 11 guys showed up to race and only 10 members were allowed to vote. First class was our Hobbystock with original Aurora body. It was great to see cars that we don’t normally race because of our body rules running on Peter’s Shamrock Glen track witch is a great fit with stock t jets. 1st place was Greg W with 69 laps, 2nd was Dave Lockwood also with 69 laps but shy 5 track sections. 3rd was Flash with 68 laps, 4th was Steve N with 66 laps, 5th was Peter L with 65. A pic will follow with the rest. Next was some thing a little different, for the first time Rockin’ it old school decided to run an AFX class. We also ran on the Shamrock Glen, despite the skepticism it was a lot of fun. 1st place was Flash with 99 laps, 2nd was Paul R also with 99 laps but just shy track sections. Just a note Pauls car went up in smoke with 10 seconds to go and would have won the race if it wasn’t for the misfortune. I know how it feels Paul, been there my self. 3rd was Peter L with 97 laps, 4th was Greg W with 96 laps, 5th was Dave L also with 96 laps. It was some close racing and a lot of fun as we hope to do at our events. Hope everyone has a great summer and see all of you at the season opener, schedule to be out soon. Greg W.
