April 4, 2021 | Dave Lockwood Hello fellow Outlaws! Fourteen racers dug out their original Aurora bodies and made their way to LenJet raceway for the Rockin’ It Old School race. After some practice, and the drivers meeting, it was time to vote for best appearing. Taking the honors was Steve’s ‘67 T-Bird Hobby Stock. Then it was onto the racing Hobby Stocks on the Vintage Tub track. What could be more old school than that? Taking the checkers was the Flashman with 126 laps and 29 sections, Dave was second with 123 laps and 32 sections and third was Greg W. with 118 laps and 41 sections (good run Greg after not racing for several months). Paul was fourth with 116 and 47, fifth was Steve at 116 and 33, sixth was Cody with 116 and 6, seventh was Joe Rinn with 116 and 1 (a lot of close racing there), eighth was Peter with 112 and 1, ninth was Donnie with 109 and 42, and tenth was Rick Hubbard with 109 and 37, the rest of the field came in with Tom Gray, Rick Pare, Terry, and Bruce. After lunch it was onto the Magnatraction race, there was some trash talking leading up to the race, but it all quieted down after it was over. Taking the win with 127 laps and 27 sections was Dave, Paul Ryer (I think there was some sabotage to move the race from the boomerang to the Champion, but I’ll save my trash talking for the next race – PR) was second with 126 and 7, third was Flash with 122 and 34, fourth was Cody with 120 and 47, fifth was Peter with 120 and 36, sixth was Joe Rinn 111 and 8, seventh was Rick Hubbard 110 and 55, eighth was Terry with 107 and 24, ninth was Steve with 106 and 43, and tenth was Greg W. with 105 and 32. Rounding out the rest of the field was Rick, Donnie, Bruce, and Tom. IROC’s were up next on the Champion. WIZZ-Jet chassis, Aurora armatures with vintage dino bodies. With the second win of the day was the Flashman with 106 and 35, second was Cody with 106 and 32, third was Peter with 105 and 36, fourth was Dave with 105 and 22, fifth was Paul with 105 and 36, sixth was Donnie with 103 and 32, seventh was Joe with 102 and 53, eighth was Rick with 101 and 52, ninth was Greg W. with 100 and 13, tenth was Steve with 109 and 38. The rest of the field was Bruce, Terry, and Tom. A great day was had by all. Thanks again Peter for hosting! The next race will be the SpinOut April 17th at LenJet. Grand Nationals on the Shamrock, Limited SS with Trans-Am bodies on the Python, and Magnatraction NASCAR bodies on the Bear. Hope to see you there! Dave Lockwood Director
