June 1, 2019 | Paul Ryer May 2019: The Museum Race Race Report May 18, 2019 The Outlaws season finale took place at the Pronyne motorsports museum in Pawtucket Rhode Island. Eleven racers tested their skill on the tight rolling “O”. A couple of museum cars were moved out, and the track was moved in, and all set-up and ready to go by 8:00! Ric Mariscal graciously had coffee and donuts set-up for us. After a brief drivers meeting, we voted for “best appearing”. Dave Lockwood’s #45 jalopy took the honors, then it was time to get down to business. First up, the Grand Nationals. Taking down the win was Rick Hubbard, followed closely by Dave Lockwood and Paul Ryer. Rudy and Jim rounded out the top five – followed by Joe, Paul, Terry, Hal, Rex and Bill. The next race on the schedule was Jalopy. Taking the checkers was Dave, followed by Rick and Terry (congrats to Terry, his first podium finish with the Outlaws). Rudy and Jim rounded out the top five. Hal, Rex, Joe, Paul M., Paul R., and Bill completed the field. For the final race of the season, it was on to the Coupes. Dave taking the final checkered flag of the season, followed by Rick, Paul R., Rudy, Joe, Rex, Jim, Terry, Bill, Hal, and Paul M. The track was packed up and then the museum cars were fired up and put back to rest in their homes (check out the video on the Outlaws Facebook page). Big thank you to Ron DeRoche for delivering and picking up the track. Unfortunately, because of his busy schedule he was not able to race with us. Next up for us will be the rules meeting, and then onto the 2019/2020 season. Don’t forget about the Summer Series at LenJet. Greg B. has already made out the schedule – check out Facebook. The dates are: June 15th, July 27thand August 25th. Thanks to everyone who made it a fun Outlaw season. Two of our races had record attendance. Dave Lockwood Outlaw Director
