November 29, 2016 | Paul Ryer November 20 2016 fast five raceway Southampton ma. 14 racers arrived bright and early to do battle in three races held on two tracks. After a practice and tech we had the drivers meeting. Discussion included asking for candidates for club president and possible Vice President. Once candidates are announced a vote will take place on the ecoslotcars website. More discussion will take place at little Greg’s race December 11th. First up was Hobby Stock with 14 racers on the Harley raceway run at 18 volts as 20 seemed way to much. Some great looking and running cars took to the track. Lots of bumping and nerfing took place. Taking the win at 101 laps Ryan with a plain Jane gto body, 2nd about a 1/2 lap back Flash 100 laps driving a light blue Daytona/superbird,only 3 sections (roughly 3 feet) behind Dave L 100 laps with a really cool looking Chevelle,4th Greg I don’t own a hobby stock Burstien at 98 laps,Steve with a hard running car at 95 in 5th,6th Greg w who had his new husky puppy on his mind at 93,also with 93 one section back in 7th Rick M, 5 sections less than Rick M was Rick H for 8th, at 90 laps in 9th one of the Rhode Island racers Phil, rounding out the top 10 was Rudy. Moving over to the 6 lane snake bite Echorr ss was next. Quite a change of tempo from hobby stock. Taking the win by a good margin and resetting the old lap record byb3 laps was Greg B with 154 ! Flash crossed the finish line in 2nd with 150, Dave L 19 feet back in 3rd,Ryan 4th with 145,5th Greg w 142,6th Steve 142,7th Rudy 137,Phil 8th 132,Ron 9th 132, Rick H rounding out the top 10 with 131. After lunch next up was the magna traction class with sports prototype hard bodies run at 20 volts this time out. These cars have some serious speed with decent handling but you really need to pay attention and brake for the turns. Dave Lockwood ran a great race taking the win at 167 by 4 laps over second place Ryan at 163,Rick H in 3rd ran a good race with 156 laps,Steve in 4th with a real smooth car 154,5th was flash 148, greg w in 6 with what was possibly the car of the class but couldn’t get the husky out of his mind with 146, greg (I only own ss cars) b in 7th with a loaner 141,8th Rudy 130,9th Ron 123, 10th officially phil 118, 11th Dave 2 with some shoe issues, and smoking the field (sorry had to say it) with what had to be the most smoke I’ve ever seen pour out of an ho car Butch with a dnf(Ryan ran a car in his lanes after his flame up to keep the lane clean). All In all it was good day and we all had a good time and had some good racing and pizza too!! See you at the next one, Ryan
