On Saturday October 15th, 14 Outlaws arrived at Len Jet Raceway to race  Indy, SS and 2 IROC races. 

After  practice, cars were teched and Dave Lockwood conducted the driver’s meeting.  Big Greg took the best appearing award with a Pat Dubie Metallic Green Turbine.  Greg said he was going to retire the Turbine to keep it from getting beat up.

Flash’s consistentcy dominated the field and took the win piling up 20 laps in each of the 4 lanes for a total of 80 laps.  Dave took second with 76 laps and Donnie turned 75 laps to take the final step on the podium.  Paul, Pitstop, Greg W, and Joe Rinn filled out the top half of the field.

Dave narrowly took the win turning 111 laps to Peter’s 110 laps.  The difference being Dave turned 28 laps in red to Peter’s 27 laps.  They matched each other in the other lanes. Cody took third with 106 laps.  Paul, Donnie, Flash, and Pitstop rounded out the top half of the field.

Dave’s set of 5 cars included LaGanke handling pans and AJ’s rear wheels and tires.   The chassis were all shortwheelbase.  Dave added that no part on the cars was made later than 1970.  The bodies were all early aurora Thunderjet to include a Ferrari 250 GTO, White Cobra GT Coupe, Green Ford GT 40, Cheetah and a Lola GT.  Great set than ran well.  An the winner was …. Pitstop!!!!!!!!!with 86 laps 45 sections over Flash with 86 laps 26 sections.  Dave took third with 85 laps 45 sections over Joe Rinn and Peter who also had 85 laps.  Cody and Greg W rounded out the top half of the field.

The master of IROC building assembled 5 great running Dash GTOs.  And the winner was…. wait for it…… Pitstop again with 95 laps and 25 sections over Flash again with 94 laps 51 sections.  Greg fittingly took third with 93 laps 18 sections.  Paul, Peter, Joe Escalante and Dave rounded out the top half of the field.

It was a fun day of racing and thank you Peter for your hospitality as always.

Our next race will be the Little Greg’s Big Race on November 19^th.  Races will be Grand National on the oval, SS on the Shamrock Glen and  IROC on the Boomerang.
