October 21, 2023  “ The Lenjet 500”

On Saturday October 21st, 19 Outlaws arrived at Lenjet Raceway to race the Lenjet 500.  With 11 HO tracks to choose from, The bear, the Champion and the Tub were chosenAfter practice, Dave conducted the driver’s meeting and it was decided to conduct the first 2 races simultaneously with half running Indy on the Bear and the other half running Fray on the Champion track.  Jim Kostinden won best appearing with his Metallic Gray Mercedes CLK.

The Bear is a very challenging track but most of the racers have turned enough laps to have confidence in the most challenging sections of the track.

Racing was tight at the sharp end of the field with all the podium finishers turning 86 laps.  Dave top the top step with 43 sections while flash nipped Big Greg with 7 sections to 5 sections.  Cody, Paul, Joe, Rinn, Peter Lentros, Terry, Jimmy and Donnie rounded out the top half of the field

Fray on the Champion

The Champion is probably everyone’s favorite track.  Dave ran away and hid to take the win by 4 laps over Flash with Peter Lentros 3 laps behind Flash with 112 laps.  Big Greg also had 112 laps just sections behind Peter, Paul, Joe, Cody, Matt, Tom Gray and Terry rounded out the top half of the field.

Big Greg prepared a set of Efray cars that everyone thought were a great set.  And then Big Greg took the win!!!!!  Greg totaled 133 laps 46 sectionswith Flash turning 132 laps 31 sections.  The final step on the podium went to Joe Rinn with 132 laps 5 sections.  Dave, Matt G, Paul, Peter Lentros, Steve and Cody rounded out the top half of the field.

Our next race will be the Skidmark 500 at Rick Morrissett’s FB Raceway and the classes will be Indy with Roadster bodies, Limited SS with Trans Am bodies and coupes on the oval.
