September 29, 2019 | Paul Ryer Hello fellow Outlaws, and welcome to the 2019/2020 Season! Seven racers found their way to Ridgefield, CT to do battle for the first race of the season. We unloaded the track out of the van and into the church, set it up and were ready to start practice at 8:15. At ten-o’clock cars were teched in and we had our drivers meeting. Greg W.’s #2 grand national winged car was voted “Best Appearing”. As many of the cars that win in this category, are created by our late friend Pat Dube. Onto the racing First up was the Grand Nationals. Taking down the win, using home track advantage, was Dave. Second was Greg W. and only sections behind for third was Steve. Fourth was Joe Rinn followed by John, Hal and Terry. Next up was the Limited SS. Greg W. set a blistering pace of 133 laps! Followed by Dave, Joe Rinn, Steve, John, Terry & Hal. A quick break for lunch and we were onto the final race of the day which was AFX Magnatractions. Dave took the top spot, followed by Greg & John (congrats to John for his first podium finish with the Outlaws), Steve, Terry, Hal and Joe Rinn rounded out the field. Everyone pitched in with a quick breakdown of the track in the pit area and loaded it back up into the van to end the day’s event. The next race for the Outlaws, is the LenJet 499, on October 19th. Super Stock, Indy and IROC will be on the card. Hope to see you all there! Dave Lockwood
